We hope you are well and taking care of yourselves.
Due to the spread of coronavirus in our state, we are now offering telemedicine visits to our patients for nonurgent appointments. The telemedicine visit will provide a 2-way video and audio appointment with your provider. To take advantage of this service, you will need a computer with webcam capabilities, smart phone, or iPad. It is best to use the internet browser Google Chrome or Firefox. You will need to make an appointment with our normal scheduling staff at 480-563-1111. Our families will need to provide an updated email address and sign up on the AthenaHealth Patient Portal which is found on our website. We need this in order to obtain consent and send you the final instructions on how to connect for you telemedicine visit. You can call prior to the appointment if you need further assistance with this connection.
Please understand certain appointments cannot be done via telemedicine and would require your child to be seen. Examples are: ear infections, testing for strep throat, respiratory issues, urinary tract infections, and assessing for dehydration. This list can change and we will attempt to triage beforehand and only bring in those we deem necessary. We are taking precautions when you come in to minimize contact with our office, staff, and others. We have dedicated one side of the office for well appointments and another for sick. This includes separate entrances and exits. Upon arrival, you are met at the door to have your temperature taken and then put directly into a patient room. If all the rooms are full, we will have you wait in your car until there is a clean room available. Each room is completely sanitized before and after every patient.
If you are coming in for a fever and/or cough, everyone needs to wear a mask or some sort of face protection. Due to limited resources, we won’t be able to continue to offer them to our patients as we begin to run out.
The American Academy of Pediatrics and DSP strongly supports continuing to see wellness exams, especially those that require immunizations. Please don’t hesitate to schedule these appointments and think about getting a jump on the back to school/sports physical rush before the summer is here!
We are here to answer your questions and help ease any uncertainties you may have.
WE MISS YOU AND HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON!
Stay Healthy!
